How we protect your information

Last updated 29 October 2026.

Quebec’s privacy law asks every business to publish how it governs the personal information it holds. Here is how we do it, in short. What we collect, why, and for how long is in our privacy policy.

Who is responsible

Yed Idem Inc. is responsible for the personal information it holds. Our Privacy Officer makes sure these rules are followed, looks into every request and complaint, and keeps them up to date. Write to hello@yedidem.ca with “Privacy” in the subject.

Who sees your information

  • Only our Privacy Officer sees customers’ details, to run the shop.
  • Anyone who works for us later will see only what their work needs, and learn these rules before they start.
  • The companies that help us run the shop, named in our privacy policy, use your information only for us, under written agreements.

How long we keep it

  • Each kind of information is kept only as long as our privacy policy says, then deleted.
  • Deleting it takes it out of our database at once. Our encrypted backups age out within 30 days.

Before anything new

Before a new project that uses personal information, and before any of it leaves Quebec, we assess the risks to your privacy and how to reduce them, and keep a written record.

If something goes wrong

We record every incident involving personal information. If one could seriously harm you, we tell you as soon as we can, and the Commission d’accès à l’information and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada too.

Asking for your information, or complaining

  1. Write to hello@yedidem.ca with “Privacy” in the subject, from the email you use with us if you can, and say what you’d like: a copy of your information, a correction, its deletion, or a person’s review of your match.
  2. We check it’s you, usually by replying to that email or sending it a code. We never ask for your password or your card number.
  3. We answer within 30 days, free of charge. If we can’t do what you ask, we say why and what you can do next.
  4. If our answer doesn’t satisfy you, you can complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information in Quebec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
